अक्षरं परमं ब्रह्म ज्योतीरूपं सनातनम्।
गुणातीतं निराकारं स्वेच्छामयमनन्तजम्॥
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भुर्मा ते संगोऽस्त्वकर्मणि।
[श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता 2.47]
ब्राह्मण की वर्तमान काल में स्थिति :: जिस व्यक्ति पर एट्रोसिटी एक्ट 89 के तहत बिना जाँच-पड़ताल के भी कार्यवाई की जा सकती है, वो ब्राह्मण है। जिसको जाति सूचक शब्द इस्तेमाल करके बेखौफ गाली दी जा सकती है, वो ब्राह्मण है, देश में आरक्षित 131 लोकसभा सीटों और 1,225 विधान सभा सीटों पर चुनाव नहीं लड़ सकता है, लेकिन वोट दे सकता है, वो ब्राह्मण है, जिसके हित के लिए आज तक कोई आयोग नहीं बना, वो ब्राह्मण है जिसके लिए कोई सरकारी योजना न बनी हो, वो ब्राह्मण है।
जिसके साथ देश का संविधान भेदभाव करता है, वो ब्राह्मण है, मात्र जिसको सजा देने के लिए NCSC और NCST का गठन किया गया वो ब्राह्मण है। मात्र जिसे सजा देने के लिए हर जिले में विशेष SC/ST न्यायालय खोले गए हैं, वो अभागा ब्राह्मण है।
जो स्कूल में अन्य वर्गों के मुकाबले चार गुनी फीस दे कर अपने बच्चों को पढाता है, वो बेसहारा ब्राह्मण है।
नौकरी, प्रमोशन, घर आवंटन आदि में जिसके साथ कानूनन भेदभाव वैध है वो बेचारा ब्राह्मण है।
सरकारों व सविधान द्वारा सबसे ज्यादा प्रताड़ित किया जाने वाला वो ब्राह्मण है।
सबसे ज्यादा वोट देकर भी खुद को लुटापिटा-ठगा सा महसूस करने वाला वो ब्राह्मण है।
सभाओं में फर्श तक बिछा कर एक अच्छी सरकार की चाह में आपको सत्ता सौंपने वाला वो ब्राह्मण है।
देश हित मे आपका तन, मन, धन से साथ देने वाला वो ब्राह्मण है।
इतने भेदभाव के बावजूद भी, धर्म की जय हो, अधर्म का नाश हो प्राणियों में सद्भावना हो, विश्व का कल्याण हो की भावना जो रखता है, वो ब्राह्मण है।
BRAHMANS TODAY वर्तमान में ब्राह्मण :: It's very-very difficult, rather impossible to follow-observe the self imposed restrictions, prohibitions, dictates in the life of a Brahmn. It's clearly the reason behind the evolution of the tree of Varn, caste-creed in Hindu religion-society.
One is free to become a Brahmn just by following the long-long list of do's and don'ts.
Daksh Prajapati, who was born out of the right foot-toe of Brahma Ji, may be treated as a Shudr (born out of the feet of Brahma Ji).
His 13 daughters, who were married to Kashyap-a Brahman, followed the dictates of Shashtr; gave birth to all life forms on including Rakshas, Demons, Giants, Yaksh, Shudr, Mallechchh (Christians & Muslims) earth.
Sanctity, righteousness, asceticism, virtuousness, religiosity, truthfulness, purity, piousity, poverty, donations, charity, kindness, fasting, contentedness, satisfaction, teaching and learning Veds, Purans, Epics, Shashtr, harmony, peace, soft spokenness, decent behaviour, tolerance, highly developed fertile creative brain, excellent memory-power to retention-grasp, not to envy, anger, greedy, perturbed, tease are synonyms to a Brahmn.
Today's Brahmns are Brahmns only for the name sake. They are just the carriers of the genes, chromosomes, DNA of their ancestors, Rishis, forefathers. They are changing with the changing times and do not hesitate-mind, adopting any profession, trade, business, job for the sake of earning money for survival, in the ever increasing race of fierce competition-in a world, which is narrowing down-shrinking, day by day, in an atmosphere of scientific advancement, discoveries, innovations, researches. However, whichever is the field, they work-choose, they assert their excellence-highly developed mental calibre, capabilities, capacities and move ahead of others, facing-tiding over, all turbulence, difficulties, resistances. What ever a Brahman does, he should resort-revert back to prayers, devotion to God as and when he has time.

लौकिके कर्मणि रतः पशूनां परिपालकः।
वाणिज्यकृषिकर्मा यः स विप्रो वैश्य उच्यते॥
The Brahman who is engrossed in worldly affairs, animal husbandry (rear-breed animals) agriculture, trade is really a Vaeshy (businessman-trader).
This is how the caste system originated. People who turned to such activities never turned back to Brahmnical practices Dharm, Saty, Nayay-justice, Devotion to Almighty, Yog, asceticism. The exodus is continuing at a much faster rate these days. Each and every person is in race for a job-service, a practice meant for the Shudr.
