अक्षरं परमं ब्रह्म ज्योतीरूपं सनातनम्।
निराकारं स्वेच्छामयमनन्तजम्॥
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भुर्मा ते संगोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥
[श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता 2.47]
सत्यं ब्रूयात् प्रियं ब्रूयात् न ब्रूयात् सत्यमप्रियं।
प्रियं च नानृतं ब्रूयात् एष धर्मः सनातनः॥
मनुष्य को सदा सत्य बोलना चाहिए, प्रिय-मीठे वचन बोलने चाहिए, प्रिय-मीठा तो बोलें परन्तु अप्रिय सत्य न बोलें तथा प्रिय असत्य भी न बोलें। यह सनातन रीति है।
One should speak the truth, speak delighting, sweet, pleasant words, speak sweet-melodious words but restrain-avoid from speaking bitter-unpleasant truth and never speak sweet untrue, false, incorrect words. This is eternal practice.
Sometimes it become essential to speak harsh-pinching words when the other person is not ready to amend his ways or realise truth.
