ॐ गं गणपतये नम:।अक्षरं परमं ब्रह्म ज्योतीरूपं सनातनम्।
निराकारं स्वेच्छामयमनन्तजम्॥
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भुर्मा ते संगोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥
[श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता 2.47]
भोगैश्वर्यप्रसक्तानां तयापहृतचेतसाम्।
व्यवसायात्मिका बुद्धिः समाधौ न विधीयते॥
पुष्पित वाणी से जिसका अन्तःकरण हर लिया गया है अर्थात भोगों की तरफ खिंच गया है और जो भोग तथा ऐश्वर्य में अत्यन्त आसक्त हैं, उन मनुष्यों की परमात्मा में एक निश्चयात्मक बुद्धि नहीं होती।[श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता साँख्य योग 2.44]
One, whose inner self is dragged by the camouflaged language towards the comforts (pleasures, enjoyments, sensualities, passions, lust, sexuality) is enchanted by these, due to lack of determination & self discipline.
ऐसे व्यक्ति स्वर्ग के सुखों को ज्यादा महत्व देते हैं, जिन्हें अत्यधिक ख़ुशी-आनन्द प्रदायक माना जाता है। अप्सराएँ-सम्भोग, नाचना-गाना, मौज-मस्ती, बड़े-बड़े सुन्दर सरोवर, बाग-बगीचे और अमृत उन्हें वहाँ खींचता है।
सुख शब्द, स्पर्श, रूप-सौन्दर्य, रस और गन्ध से जुड़ा है। साथ में नाम, बड़ाई और आराम भी है। धन, सम्पत्ति, बँगला, गाड़ी (लगातार बड़ी होती हुई), मनुष्य में आसक्ति, खिंचाव-जुड़ाव उत्पन्न करते हैं। आसक्ति महत्व बुद्धि-आसुरी प्रवृति की द्योतक है। उनके लिये सांसारिक-शारीरिक सुख ज्यादा महत्वपूर्ण हैं।
इससे भी विचित्र बात ये है कि वे इन सभी भोगों को मानवीय शरीर के माध्यम से प्राप्त करना चाहते हैं। वे ये भूल जाते हैं कि मानव जन्म का मूल कारण मुक्ति-मोक्ष प्राप्त करना है, भटकना नहीं। आशाओं, इच्छाओं, महत्वाकांक्षाओं, तृष्णाओं का अन्त कभी नहीं होता, उनकी पूर्ति-संतुष्टि कभी नहीं होती। एक पूरी हुई; दूसरी शुरू। ये एक शृंखला की तरह है।
Such people give more importance weightage to the the heavens due to the extreme pleasure for enjoyment, Apsras-nymphs for sex, dance & music, beautiful gardens and the elixir, which is present there.
Pleasure is associated with pleasing words, soothing touch, beauty, extracts for drinking (juices, wine, elixir, nectar) and smells-fragrances, physical rest-pleasures, honour and name, fame, glory. Worldly pleasures are obtained through wealth, property, vehicles (always increasing in size & comforts) etc. They generate attraction, attachment, bonding, which is purely demonic tendency. For them physical comforts are more important. What is unique is that they want to experience the comforts of heaven through this material body! The real cause behind the availability of birth as a human being is to worship, pray-make efforts, for assimilation in God and not to venture for any thing else. The main thing behind the desires is, failure to achieve saturation-satisfaction. More one obtain more he crave for. The comforts-luxuries are never ending and have a chain formation.
Its possible to have every thing and still keep aloof, uninvolved, unattached like king Janak and Achary Chanky. While performing one's duties with dedication, honestly, piously, if one is able to get luxuries, its alright but indulgence is harmful. It divert one away from the Almighty.
भोग :: अनुभूति, अनुभव, समझना, संवेदन, बूझ, पीड़ा, कष्ट, क्लेश, यंत्रणा, आनंद, उपभोग, संतुष्टि, संभोग, विहार, आपदा; enjoyment, suffering, perception.
